April 29, 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp.
On this day in 1945, U.S. Army troops liberated ~32,000 prisoners from the camp. During the liberation, some prisoners joined the Allied forces in over-running the SS guards. From its commission in 1933 to the liberation in 1945, more than 41,500 prisoners died in Dachau.
Never forget.
